i had it done to me
i run my own business. a 'friend' asked if i could help him by selling his services, it was an IT application and although I was willing to help explained that I needed to run the app first in order to understand it. After much messing around on the friends part, and parting with some £250 for equipment I hadnt really planned on buying, eventually the 'friend' arrived at my unit to install. I worked away on my online store and was busy wrapping and packing the orders. He admitted that he was 'shocked' that I had lowered myself to a 'wrap & pack' type job, not really recognising that when you run your own business, sometimes you have to do every role; from cleaning to entertaining. I was for my part upset, but said nothing. As time went on the application was installed (it took four months) and after many calls to the friend never worked. He wanted paying and feeling somewhat vindicated by his expression of judgement on me, let him know precisely what I thought of him.Judge not less ye be judged also, is one of my personal values.

and make sure they know you're doing it, if they're not thankful, you can go elsewhere (let them know that too!)if you're a small business, join the FSB, the membership pays for itself.
I wish the NSPCC wasn't necessary ..
.. but sadly it is, so help them. £10 nowadays is less than a takeaway, so dump one takeaway treat and eat in and think how your £10 could be helping a new life have a better start in THIS country.
