Taught my class some sign language
Our teacher hadn't turned up to the lesson as she was ill so I spontaneously decided to teach them all some basic sign language. I taught them some simple sentences and most of the sign language alphabet (the bits I could remember!) 04 July 2010, 12:56Amazing!
My best friend is an interpreter for the deaf, and has taught me the rudiments of ASL (American Sign Language). It's amazing and wonderful to be able to communicate with a deaf person in their own language. And don't worry if you're not very skilled in sign-- I'm fumble-fingered at best, and even my clumsy efforts are embraced. It's just a sign of respect to talk to a person in their preferred language. 25 May 2010, 16:57WOOP!
I am the brother of the aforementioned Bob Patel, and I must say that I also found this action more exciting than a cow doing a backflip, but ALSO more exciting than a mongoose doing a backflip, or any other animal for that matter, EVEN A CAMEL! I LOVE THIS ACTION. ALI3.Safe Gs, laterz xxxxxxxxx 01 April 2010, 10:40

I taught my Pre-Teaching class basic sign language, like how to ask someone how they are :) 24 February 2010, 15:36Does Makaton count?
I am a teacher at a special needs school. We are introducing Makaton across the school and I have even taught French using makaton. Some students who will not speak are happy to respond in Makaton. 17 February 2010, 11:37flirting in sign language
The other day i was in a bar and a guy was making signs to me. At the beginning I thought he was a bit egocentric because he was just making signs instead of approaching me to talk to me. After a while his friend came and said that this guy couldnt speak that´s why he was using sign language. I decided to approach him. He could read my lips and his friend helped me to say somethings in sign language we ended up dancing and singing together! I had a really good time.10 February 2010, 14:45
:)
I taught my VMG and Student voice member how to be friendly in sign language :) and i enjoyed it. 02 February 2010, 18:49I've done this action too
When I had to do this task as part of a class challenge,I had a whack at it and I found it better than a cow doing a back flip.
I got the whole class involved and it was amazing to teach the class something new and exciting.
Thanks for giving me the inspiration

something new
at 2 different presentations i learnt how to say, thank you, hello, good morning, good bye and say my name in sign language...there's a boy who has difficulty hearing that just lives around the back of my house, i was able to speak to him using the skills i had learnt from the presentations i went to, the only problem was that he thought i was a pro at speaking in sign language that he started doing some fast and hard signs that i couldnt understand but i didnt know how to say 'sorry i dont understand' in sign language...thats something i need to learn 01 February 2010, 23:17i be friendly in sign language

i have a friend whos parents are deaf, he taught me the alphabet but is teaching me the more adavanced stuff, also the cbeebies show is rather good for learning too. 03 November 2009, 11:54Saying Hello and how are you
There's actually this really lovely show on CBeebies where the presenter presents in sign language, everyday you learn little lovely phrases to say in sign language and because the show is aimed at toddlers/little children it's really simple to learn. I can now introduce myself and ask the other person how they are, what their name is, etc, and odd little phrases... 16 October 2009, 11:48Its easy to do and you can make somone smile
My brother who is now 5 was born deaf so i had to learn signlanguage at my local college, im glad i had to learn it because now i can comunicate with lots of deaf people and help out if i see someone stuggling to understand a deaf peson signing, i teach my friends at school and its a good thing to have as another qualification for when i try to get into uni in less than 2 years. my brother had a choclea implant (like a hearing aid) about a year ago on his left and soon just before halloween he's having one on his right, since then his speech has improved alot but he still uses sign in his every day life and so do i : ) 15 October 2009, 08:30Nice to meet you !
I learned how to say hello , nice to meet you and nice to see you in sign language! 14 October 2009, 08:55Be friendly in sign language :)
